Screenker is a document-based Mac app. Your projects and captures stay in files on your own disk.
Screenker can draft caption text for a screenshot. When you use that feature, the screen description you supply is sent to the configured provider — Anthropic or OpenAI — which returns caption text.
Both are treated identically here. Under the commercial API terms Screenker uses, neither provider trains its models on content submitted through the API. Both apply their own short retention for abuse monitoring.
The caption feature is the only part of Screenker that sends anything anywhere. If you do not use it, Screenker makes no network requests for your content at all.
Every AI provider named on this page runs on someone else's servers. The intended destination is on-device — Apple's on-device models, with no request leaving your machine for this feature at all. Screenker already carries that path behind a build flag for a future macOS release.
That is a statement of direction, not a description of today. On-device will be the only configuration ever described as on-device here, and only once it ships in a released build. Until then, what is written above is what happens.
Screenker contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
