SharedSpaceLab Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 August 2026

SharedSpaceLab is local-first. It does not connect to a backend server, and there is no account. Household data stays on your own devices.

Microphone and speech recognition

TODO before submitting: The app declares NSMicrophoneUsageDescription and NSSpeechRecognitionUsageDescription. State whether speech is transcribed on-device or through Apple's servers — SFSpeechRecognizer may use either, and the answer changes the disclosure. Say whether audio or transcripts are retained, and for how long.

Local network and nearby chat

TODO before submitting: The app declares NSLocalNetworkUsageDescription and the Bonjour service _sharedspace._tcp. State what nearby chat transmits between devices, whether it is encrypted in transit, and whether messages are stored after delivery. Confirm no relay or backend is involved.

What is not collected

There is no account, no backend, and no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties.

Children

TODO before submitting: The app models children and caregivers as household roles. Confirm whether it is directed at children under 13 in Apple's sense — if so, additional obligations apply.
