HOABooklet ("the app") is published by Bill Donner / 1041Soft. This policy describes what the app collects, how it is used, and your choices.
We (the developer) do not collect, receive, or store any of your data. There is no HOABooklet account and no HOABooklet server. We do not show ads, and we do not sell or share data with advertisers, analytics brokers, or anyone else. Everything you put into HOABooklet — resident names, photos, units, contact fields, and the finished directory — stays on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your own private iCloud account.
Nothing is collected by the developer. A directory does contain personal information about real people — names, photographs, unit or street addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses — because that is what a directory is. All of it is entered by you, stored in your own .hoabooklet document, and never transmitted to 1041Soft or to any third party.
This is a structural property of the app, not a promise about how we behave with data we receive: HOABooklet contains no networking code at all. There is no URLSession, no socket, and no HTTP client anywhere in the app. The macOS build declares the com.apple.security.network.client sandbox entitlement for one reason only — WKWebView's web-content process will not launch under the App Sandbox without it, and that process renders the book preview. The book HTML is fully self-contained (photos are inlined as base64), so no request leaves the machine.
Because you are entering other people's information, you remain the party responsible for it under any privacy law that applies to your organization. HOABooklet gives you the tools to hold that data locally; how you collect, share, and print it is your decision.
Nothing to us. HOABooklet has no first-party backend. The app does not send your directory, your photos, or any usage information to the developer or to any third party.
If you keep your document in iCloud, your .hoabooklet file syncs through your own private iCloud container so the same book opens on your Mac and iPhone. That transfer is between your devices and Apple's iCloud under Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy; the developer has no access to it. You can keep your document entirely local instead by saving it outside iCloud.
Your directory document(s) — the roster you enter: resident names, unit numbers, contact fields, and photos — plus the composed book and any exported PDFs you create; and your app settings and preferences, in the system preferences store. All of this lives on your device (and in your private iCloud, if enabled). Deleting the app removes its local copy; documents you saved in iCloud or elsewhere remain until you delete them.
If you choose to add or replace a resident photo, HOABooklet asks the system for camera or photo-library access. Photos you select are stored only inside your directory document. They are not uploaded anywhere by the app and are not used for any purpose other than appearing in your directory.
HOABooklet contains no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs, and no first-party telemetry.
HOABooklet is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information, from anyone, of any age.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at 1041soft.com/hoabooklet/privacy with a new "Last updated" date.
This app is published by 1041Soft LLC, an Illinois limited liability company (Wilmette, Illinois). 1041Soft LLC is the developer of record on the App Store and the party responsible for this policy.
